In honor of those who gave their lives

Venhuizen thanks those who served on behalf of Ace

Memorial Day is one we set aside to remember those who gave their lives so that we might be free, and pray that no additional heroes will ever have to do so again.

This weekend we honor the valor of others. We honor those who tried to dodge bullets while others debated the sincerity of their efforts. These heroes deserve our honor, not our skepticism. One need not look very far around the world to understand how very precious liberty really is. And so we humbly and gratefully remember those who loved their country and their freedom so dearly that they shed their very blood for her.

Ronald Reagan had it right nearly forty years ago when he said, “Today, the United States stands as a beacon of liberty and democratic strength before the community of nations. We are resolved to stand firm against those who would destroy the freedoms we cherish. We are determined to achieve an enduring peace—a peace with liberty and with honor. This determination, this resolve, is the highest tribute we can pay to the many who have fallen in the service of our Nation.”
