Ace Hardware Stores Kick Off Thanksgrilling

Ace Hardware stores across the nation challenge customers to once again “Think Outside the Oven this Thanksgiving” with the annual kickoff to Thanksgrilling on Nov. 19.

Customers can visit participating Ace Hardware locations to take part in the Thanksgrilling Party from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. to learn how to think outside the oven for Thanksgiving feasts this year. Local participating stores will be grilling in parking lots and holding demos and special events, as well as offering giveaways, family activities and much more.

Thanksgiving is America's second-most popular holiday after Christmas, according to Fact Retriever. It takes approximately seven hours to cook a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, and only about 16 minutes to finish eating it. When the day is done, Americans will have consumed nearly 55 million pounds of turkey and about 4,500 calories total.

As a sign of the holiday’s popularity, Fact Retriever says the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line answers more than 100,000 questions about cooking in November and into early December. As part of Thanksgrilling, Ace customers can visit in-store to have some of these questions answered by associates who have expert knowledge on grills, seasonings, recipes and much more.

The most wonderful meal of the year gets even better when you take Thanksgrilling to the grills,” Chef Jason Morse said. “Add your favorite flavors of the grill to your feast and make your family drool. Thanksgrilling is here and it’s time to enjoy food, family and those epic grilled flavors. Fire up the grill this year and make your feast one for the record books.”

Local Ace Hardware stores will be featuring top grills and smokers from Weber, Big Green Egg and Traeger. There will be a number of great deals including a Traeger holiday sale beginning the week of Thanksgrilling. One of the feature grills is the Traeger Ironwood 885 Wood Pellet WiFi Grill and Smoker featured at $1,399.95, a $200 savings, and the 18-pound bag of Traeger Turkey Hardwood Pellets with Brine Kit for $27.95 to go along with it.

The Ironwood 885 Wood Pellet WiFi Grill and Smoker utilizes the Ironwood D2 controller with WiFire technology. The grill includes a D2 drivetrain for faster heating, porcelain-coated grates, dual position smoker and searing bottom grate and a double-sidewall interior to maintain steady heat temperatures for consistent results. All Ace Rewards members will be able to take advantage of free assembly and delivery on grills and smokers priced at $399 or more.

Prior to the Nov. 19 kickoff of Thanksgrilling, Chef Jason will host a live YouTube event on Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. EST called “Turkey 101.” Viewers will be able to call in to Chef Jason and have their questions answered live. In addition, recipes for holiday-favorite dishes are also now available as part of the Chef’s Turkey Toolkit found under “Thanksgrilling” in the Tips and Advice section of the Ace Hardware website or by visiting www.acehardware.com/thanksgrilling.

Ace also highlights the annual tradition of the Thanksgrilling 5-Course Scent Candle for $14.99. This candle will fill your house with the scent of a Thanksgiving feast while you cook your meal outside. Each candle, which has an estimated burn time of 60 hours, is made with all-natural ingredients and is hand-poured in layers of the different heart-warming scents of Thanksgiving.
